A heritage luxury limited edition watch believed to have been used by football legend late Diego Maradona was recovered from Assam on Saturday after it went missing from Dubai. The watch, worth around Rs 20 lakh, was recovered from the possession of an Assam resident who used to work in Dubai and had returned to India recently, the Assam Police said. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma informed via Twitter on Saturday. The accused, identified as Wazid Hussein, has been arrested in Assam and further legal action will be taken, he said.

On receiving an input from Dubai Police through a central agency, the Assam Police arrested the accused at 4 am on Saturday morning from his residence in Sivasagar, the Director General of Police informed. The accused allegedly stole the limited edition Hublot watch signed by Maradona when he worked as a security guard for a company that was storing the late football player's belongings in Dubai. He then purportedly fled to Assam in August this year.
