BJP has promised to protect the territorial integrity and preserve the rights of the indigenous people of Manipur. BJP president JP Nadda said this while releasing the party's Manifesto for the upcoming Assembly polls on Thursday in Imphal. Chief Minister N. Biren Singh, Union Minister of State for Education R.K. Ranjan, Party State President, and other key members of the party also attended the function. The BJP Manifesto 2022 included the party commitment to provide the two free LPG cylinders to all the PM Ujjwala beneficiaries annually. The Manifesto, which has twenty points also promised that Manipur Skill University will be established for skilling the youth of Manipur in various sectors and provide free scooty to all meritorious college-going girls of the state and free laptops to meritorious students passing class 12th standard.
The Manifesto of BJP party does not include any point on the controversial Armed Forces Special Powers Act 1958 which is implemented in Manipur excluding some assembly segments. The people of Manipur have been demanding to repeal the Act from Manipur for many years and some political parties have mentioned that the Act will be repealed in their Manifesto released in connection to the upcoming polls. Some of the points included in the BJP Manifesto 2022 are giving employment opportunity in the tourism sector, different financial benefits to those working in various sectors, the establishment of All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Manipur.
