West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, during her Delhi visit, called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday. After the meeting she told the waiting corresspondents that she took up a number of state-related issues with the prime minister, including the controversial extension of Border Security Forces (BSF) jurisdiction. She also spoke to the prime minister on the Tripura violence. Mamata Banerjee also mentioned that the state is yet to get Rs 96,605 crore from Centre for natural calamities that massacred the state.
Speaking about Trinamool fighting from other states, Mamata said: "TMC will fight from where it is needed. If Akhilesh Yadav wants us to support them in Uttar Pradesh, we will." The Trinamool chief will be visiting Mumbai later this month where she will meet Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) head Sharad Pawar.. She met several politicians in Delhi.
