President Ram Nath Kovind has said that country cannot rest till every eligible individual is vaccinated and urged community of doctors to continue to raise awareness about vaccination. President was speaking at the 26th convocation of the Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences in Lucknow on Friday evening.In his address to the student doctors, the President said that the battle against covid is Far from over. We must remain on guard without any laxity. Masks and social distancing are first line of defence. President said that Country has made incredible progress with vaccination of more than 61 crore people and in the most populated state UP nearly 6 crore 70 lakh people are vaccinated. He said that the government of UP has created many facilities for the dedicated care of covid patients and appreciated the step to open medical colleges in each district of state. Kovind said that Pandemic has underlined the importance of health care in unprecedented way and Use of latest technology especially telemedicine will go long way in addressing the long challenges before us.

Kishan Reddy on Friday inaugurated e-Photo exhibition “Making of the Constitution” and Virtual Film Poster Exhibition “Chitranjali@75” today. The event was organized as part of ‘Iconic Week’ being celebrated by Ministry of I&B along with various media units to celebrate Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav with the objective to showcase the journey of New India and celebrate the contribution of freedom fighters including the ‘Unsung Heroes’ of the freedom struggle through massive outreach activities. Speaking at the event,Thakur announced that very soon the Government will run a ‘Know Your Constitution’ programme to encourage the youth to partner in the efforts to propagate the founding principles of India’s Constitution. The government has released this compilation in digital format keeping in line with the transformative digital revolution. The book will be released in eleven Indian languages along with Hindi and English. The virtual exhibition has a collection of videos and speeches along with an interactive quiz with a provision for e-certificate, he further added. Apurva Chandra, Secretary, Ministry of I&B said that the event was an effort in the direction of taking our historical and cultural heritage to the youth of the country.
-All parties in Maharashtra have unanimously said that reservation for OBCs should be reinstated in the local bodies. Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray Friday called an all party meeting to discuss the issue. Along with Opposition Leader Devendra Fadnavis, leaders from other political parties were present. Many leaders have suggested various options to resolve the issue of OBC reservation. Government said all these suggestions will be studied and a meeting will be called next week to discuss solutions. Mr. Fadnavis suggested possible ways to collect Empirical data within three months. He claimed that reservation is not struck down by the supreme court but it is Read down by court. He also asked the govt. not to hold elections of local bodies till the issue of OBC reservation is resolved.
-Chhattisgarh Chief minister Bhupesh Baghel said he has invited senior party leader Rahul Gandhi to visit the state. Speaking to reporters in New Delhi, Baghel said, Gandhi will first visit Bastar, and inspect various projects and works there. Amid power tussle in Chhattisgarh Congress, State Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel met Gandhi in New Delhi. State Minister T S Singh Deo, who is reportedly staking his claim to the post of Chief Minister, has also reached Delhi.Baghel further said that there was no crisis in the state.
-Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Narendra Singh Tomar has said that BRICS countries are well-positioned to take a leading role in helping to achieve the objectives of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals to eradicate hunger and poverty. Tomar said this while chairing the 11th Meeting of BRICS Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa Agriculture Ministers through video conference. He said, BRICS countries bring together the major emerging economies of the world, hosting 41 per cent of the world population and contributing 24 per cent of the world GDP. Tomar said, by increasing agricultural production and the income of farmers, the problem of income inequality and food price volatility can be overcome.The Minister highlighted the efforts made by India in preserving the agro-biodiversity by establishing and maintaining the National Gene banks for plants, animals, fish and agriculturally important microorganisms at different Bureaus.
