More than hundreds of sanitation workers on Friday carried out a cleanliness operation at the ghats of Sangam on the occasion of Mahakumbh. According to reports the Officer on Special Duty (OSD) Kumbh Akansha Rana, “A Guinness world record is being created, where 300 sanitation workers are engaged in river cleaning at various locations.” She also indicated that more records will follow as part of the ongoing cleanliness campaign. A total of 15,000 sanitation workers are expected to join the effort in the coming days.This historic feat took place across multiple Ganga sectors during the festival.

As per the Uttar Pradesh government, more than 491.4 million devotees have dipped in the Triveni Sangam (the confluence of Ganga, Yamuna, and the mythical Saraswati) since the inception of the 2025 Maha Kumbh Mela.Friday witnessed a massive turnout as more than 5.1 million pilgrims flocked to the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj. Throughout the day, 5.3 million devotees took a revered dip in the sacred Triveni Sangam. Traffic management was a central focus, with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stressing officer accountability amid congestion concerns.
