Union government is taking seriously the violent incident in West Bengal in which the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP’s) chief JP Nadda’s convoy was attacked on Thursday. Pmrime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to BJP leaders JP Nadda and Kailash Vijayvargiya to enquire about their well-being after the two leaders were attacked in Bengal.
The West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankar also submitted a report to the central government on the "deteriorating" law and order situation in Bengal, after which the state's police chief and Chief Secretary have been summoned on Monday(December 14). by the MHA. It is said that the Governor's report has reportedly make some serious remarks agianst senior officers of the state.
Dhankhar on Friday slammed the state’s chief minister Mamata Banerjee over the deteriorating law and order situation in the state following an attack on the convoys of senior BJP leaders in Diamond Harbour on Thursday.Addresing a press conference on Friday, Dhankar saidthat the law and order situation in WB has been continuously worsening for long. Distancing of governance from rule of law and constitutional parameters is on an alarming level. CM Mamata Banerjee is under constitutional obligation. She has to follow the Constitution,” he said. Expressing dissatisfaction over Mamata's "outsider" remark, he said, "To talk about Indian citizens as outsiders...Madam CM pls don't play with fire." Meanwhile, TMC MP Mahua Moitra hit out at the BJP by saying that Thursday’s attack was staged by the BJP and that is why their security could not foil the attack.
