Kullu: 6 dead, several injured after landslide

In Himachal Pradesh, six people have died after a storm uprooted a tree, which fell on vehicles and food stalls in Kullu Sunday evening. According to eyewitnesses, a tree near the road right in front of Manikaran Gurdwara fell due to a storm that caused a landslide. Videos showed vehicles parked near food stalls next to the mountain. Cars were crushed by the tree branches that fell on them. Manikaran is at an altitude of 1,829 metres and approximately 40 km from Kullu.According to the information, a roadside hawker, a car driver and three tourists, who were present on the spot, were among those killed in the landslide.

Kullu Additional District Magistrate Ashwani Kumar said that six people had lost their lives in the landslide, while many had been injured.Meanwhile, the state received moderate to heavy snowfall and rain during the past 24 hours.
