Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal on Friday said that the Government is working to expedite the conclusion of a free trade agreement with the European Union. Speaking at the Italy-India Business, Science and Technology Forum in New Delhi, he said that India has emerged as a key market for European Union members. He said that India presents an opportunity to expand manufacturing at scale for the global market. Goyal added that the India-Italy Joint Strategic Action Plan 2025-2029 is a pathway for shared prosperity for both nations.

The Italy-India Business, Science, and Technology Forum aims to foster collaboration between Indian and Italian business communities. It will bring together industry leaders from both countries to explore opportunities for collaboration and partnership across critical sectors such as Industry 4.0, energy transition, infrastructure, cutting-edge technologies, and innovation.
