Nearly Two Crore beneficiaries including 88 lakh women and Four thousand Five hundred trans genders enrolled under Atal Pension Yojana in the last three years. In reply to a question in Rajya Sabha Minister of State for Finance Dr. Bhagwat Karad said, the Scheme is for all the citizens between 18 to 40 age group with savings account in a bank or the post office. Atal Pension Yojana is operational since 1st June 2015, with an objective of creating a universal social security system for all Indians, especially the poor, under-privileged and the workers in unorganized sectors.
-Chief Economic Advisor K V Subramanian has said that India is likely to have a double-digit growth this year. Briefing media, Subramanian said, overall growth for the first half has been 13.7 per cent, so, even a little more than 6 per cent growth in the subsequent quarters should be able to deliver double-digit growth for this year. He said, India is expected to grow at 6.5 to 7 per cent in 2022-23 and over 7 per cent thereafter. Subramanian said, formal sector has emerged well from COVID crisis. He said, informal sector, even though it's been impacted, the nature of its production means that it will be less impacted. The CEA said, financial sector has emerged stronger and manufacturing sector shows that India in this decade should grow. He said, the cumulative annual growth rate between 2015-2019 has been higher for India than China in manufacturing gross value, merchandise exports and manufactured goods exports. Mr Subramanian said, fiscal deficit target of 6.8 per cent of GDP for current financial year likely to be met.
-Noted poet, Telugu film Lyricist ‘Sirivennela’ Seetarama Sastry passed away on Tuesday with Lung Cancer related complications at a private hospital in Hyderabad. He was 66. He was admitted with pneumonia a week ago and was put on ECMO in the ICU. The hospital in a health bulletin said he breathed his last little past 4 PM. Born in Amalapuram in present Andhra Pradesh in 1955, Ch. Seetarama Sastry, shot into limelight when provided songs for Sirivennela directed by eminent Director K Viswanath in late 1980s. later, the film became his known name as Sirivennela Seetarama Sastry. He wrote about three thousand songs, for over 800 films and most of them, known for their lyrical excellence and also popular. The Government of India honoured him with Padma Sri award in 2019 and prior to that he received State Government Nandi Awards for 11 times and film fare awards for 4 times.
-In Manipur, Chief Minister N. Biren Singh laid the foundation stone for construction of a 50 bedded Prefabricated Field Hospital in Noney district. The hospital will be set up by the funding of National Health Mission with an estimated cost of rupees three crore fifty lakh. Recently the State government decided to set up such hospitals in hill districts of Manipur. The construction work for the hospital will start in Kamjong, Pherzawl and Tengnoupal districts of the state soon.
-In the Kashmir Valley, J&K Police in Khag area of central Kashmir's Budgam district have recovered an ancient sculpture. As per official sources, a team of officers from Department of Archives, Archaeology & Museums, J&K Govt during examination, it was revealed that the recovered sculpture of Goddess Durga dates back roughly to 7th AD is about 1300 years old. The sculpture is carved in a black stone with Goddess Durga seated on lion throne. Moreover, the sculpture is having the influence of Gandhara School of Art. Meanwhile, the said recovered sculpture of Goddess Durga was handed over formally to Department of Archives, Archaeology & Museums by the police authorities of Budgam.
-The State-level Scheme Sanctioning Committee (SLSSC) has approved drinking water supply schemes worth one thousand 816 Crore rupees for Rajasthan yesterday. These schemes will provide tap water connection in two thousand 348 villages spread over 20 districts of the State. It will provide tap water connections to around 4 lakh rural households. The SLSSC has special attention on water quality issues in 16 districts impacted with geo-genic contamination, thereby urging to make provision of tap water supply in these areas on priority.
