Union Minister for IT Ashwani Vaishnaw launched an AI skilling programme to impart AI skilling to ten lakh youth across the country. He launched this programme while virtually addressing an Artificial Intelligence Conference held in Rajasthan’s Jaipur 0n Tuesday. Vaishnaw said that within a year, ten lakh young people and small entrepreneurs will receive AI skills under this initiative. He said Artificial Intelligence, AI, is emerging as a transformative force across sectors such as healthcare, education, agriculture, manufacturing, governance, and infrastructure. He said that AI is not just a technology of the future but a powerful tool that is already reshaping human life and work patterns. Vaishnaw has announced that the Global AI Impact Summit will be held in New Delhi next month. Speaking at the event, Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology Jitin Prasada has said that Artificial Intelligence is bringing major transformation in human life. He said, AI is now being widely used across all sectors, leading to enhanced capacity building. He said the Centre has allocated a budget of more than 10 thousand crore rupees for the India AI Mission. The Minister said the mission is focused on promoting the use of AI to bring comprehensive changes in various fields. During the programme, experts discussed real-world applications of AI, data security, digital infrastructure, and India’s growing role as a global technology hub. Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma was also present at the event. On this occasion, the Rajasthan AI-ML Policy 2026 was also unveiled.
