India crosses landmark milestone of over one crore vaccine doses administered

India and China will hold 10th round of Corps Commander level talks on Saturday at Moldo on the Chinese side of LAC in eastern Ladakh. The move follows the first phase of disengagement at Pangong Lake. Ahead of the talks, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Hua Chunying told media in Beijing that the two sides are in communication.She said India is an important neighbour and restoring a healthy stable relationship is the aspiration and in the interest of the people. However, she said the timing of the talks and the revelation about the Galwan casualty figure on Chinese side are not related.China on Friday, for the first time admitted casualties on its side at the Galwan valley clashes. The news came through the official media channels which gave details about the 4 Chinese soldiers who died in the clashes including one regimental commander from the PLA Xinjiang Military Command. It took almost 8 months in revealing the Galwan casualty details.

-A total of 6 lakh 58 thousand 674 beneficiaries were vaccinated today which is the highest single day vaccinations during the on-going COVID19 vaccination drive.Briefing the media in New Delhi on Friday in New Delhi, Joint Secretary in Health Ministry Dr Mandeep Bhandari said, one crore 4 lakh 49 thousand 942 beneficiaries have been vaccinated till now.  He said, 70 lakh 52 thousand 845 health care workers and 33 lakh 97 thousand 97 front line workers have been vaccinated till now. Dr Bhandari said, Health Care Workers first dose coverage of more than 75 per cent done in 12 States and UTs .Health Care Workers first dose coverage of less than 50 per cent done in 7 States and UTs.  The Joint Secretary said, Front Line Workers first dose coverage of more than 40 per cent done in 15 States and UTs.

-The Central Government has launched the Go Electric campaign to boost the adoption of electric mobility vehicles and electric cooking appliances to ensure energy security in the country.Launching the campaign, Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadakari said, Go Electric is a future of India which will promote cost effective, environment friendly and indigenous electric products. Expressing concern over the huge imported cost of fossil fuel, he said, carbon emission from transport vehicles is a major challenge and the country needs to promote use of such kinds of vehicles which operate on alternative mode of fuels like electric batteries, CNG and Bio-fuel. He said, India would become the number one manufacturer of electric vehicles in the next five years. Power and New and Renewable Energy Minister R K Singh said that energy transition is imperative to reduce dependence on the imported fossil fuels. He urged the people to adopt electric products as it is more economical and environment friendly.

-Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change Prakash Javadekar on Friday inaugurated the Atal Paryavaran Bhavan at Lakshadweep. He said that Lakshadweep will undergo a comprehensive development, without compromising it's commitment to nature. He attended high level meetings with Secretaries of various departments in Lakshadweep administration.  He will also evaluate the major innovative initiatives of the Union Territory's Forest and Environment Department .

-The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has commissioned the Chariot (Ratham) of Sri Lakshminarasimha Swamy temple of Antarvedi on Friday coinciding with the auspicious day of Ratha Saptami.The  Chief Minister offered Puja and Aarti and dragged the giant forty-feet chariot to herald its commissioning. Earlier, the Chief Minister was given a traditional welcome on his arrival. He had a darshan of the main deity and participated in the puja after which he has been given Vedasirvachanam.The CM  later  proceeded to the  colourfully decorated  Ratham and offered puja and aarti. The seven-tier Chariot was commissioned with the Chief Minister along with his cabinet colleagues formally drawing it forward.The new chariot with six wheels and seven tiers was made out of 1330 cubic feet of  teak wood and is equipped with hydraulic brakes and has  a protective shed with iron gates.  State Ministers, MPs, MLAs, and officials were present on the occasion.
