IIM Indore signed a MoU with Military College of Telecommunication Engineering (MCTE), Mhow on Thursday which was signed by Professor Himanshu Rai, Director, IIM Indore and Lt. General M.U. Nair, SM, Commandant, MCTE, Mhow. This is the first MoU with Army which will be valid for a period of three years. Speaking on the occasion, Professor Rai said that this would prove to be valuable and would encourage close cooperation amongst the defence, academia and industry to interact closely. ‘The partnership is envisaged to be mutually beneficial for both institutions. For MCTE, it will be an opportunity to leverage the expertise of the faculty and research scholars of IIM in the field of management studies,he said and added that for the faculty members at IIM, it would provide an opportunity to connect to practical reality in the relevant research and developmental activities thereby enriching the domain expertise.
Lt. Gen. Nair said that the collaboration establish exchange or collaboration programs beneficial to both the Institutions and to promote the development of joint studies, research and training activities.‘MCTE hosts almost 20-30 foreign students from 10 to 12 different foreign countries. Short capsules in contemporary management skills designed for these foreign students by IIM, Indore will go a long way in fostering good relations between the countries’, he said.
The MoU will also promote faculty interaction programmes, project guidelines, joint workshops, seminars and small capsule courses. will also focus on joint research, joint case studies, with special focus on Big Data Analytics and in implementation of Predictive Analytics based problem definitions with the assistance and expertise provided by IIM Indore.
