Health Ministry issues revised guidelines for International Arrivals

The Health Ministry has issued revised guidelines for International Arrivals. These guidelines would come into effect from February 14. Besides uploading a negative RT-PCR report, an option to upload a certificate of completing the full primary vaccination schedule of COVID-19 vaccination has been provided from countries on a reciprocal basis. The guidelines provide that 2percent  of the total passengers in the flight shall undergo random post arrival testing at the airport. Such travellers in each flight shall be identified by the concerned airlines. The travellers  will submit the samples and shall be allowed to leave  the airport. 
Highlighting the main features of the guidelines, Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said that these guidelines mandate 14 days Self-Monitoring post-arrival as against 7 days Home Quarantine as was mandated earlier. He said that the demarcation of countries ‘at-risk’ & other countries has been removed. Accordingly, the need for giving samples on port of arrival & waiting till the result is obtained from countries ‘at-risk’ is dispensed with. He added that the need for undertaking RT-PCR test on 8th day & uploading the same on Air Suvidha portal is also dispensed with. The Health Minister has asked everyone to follow these guidelines diligently, stay safe and strengthen India's hands in the fight against COVID19.
