Ghulam Nabi Azad’s nephew joins BJP in J&K

Senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad's nephew Mubashir Azad joined the BJP on Sunday and said he was "influenced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's developmental works at the ground level". Mubashir Azad, the son of Ghulam Nabi Azad's youngest brother Liaqat Ali, also said his uncle was "disrespected" by the Congress leadership which hurt him and led to him parting ways with the grand old party.He, however, claimed that he did not discuss the plan to join the BJP with his uncle.  Mubashar Azad said that he was deeply hurt over the disrespect of his uncle, former Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad by the present Congress leadership in Jammu & Kashmir and the Centre. He said that the way Congress party treated Ghulam Nabi Azad has hurt the sentiments of the common masses and stressed that PM Modi has given recognition to the efforts of former CM. He added that while there is total selfish infighting within the Congress party, PM Modi has gained the trust of common masses and thus we pledge to stand with PM Modi and BJP in the interest of society and the nation.

J&K BJP chief Ravinder Raina, accompanied by former MLA Dalip Parihar and BJP ST Morcha president Haroon Choudhary, welcomed Mubashar Azad, the youth leader from Doda who was closely associated with Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for a long time. Welcoming the new entrants into the party fold, Ravinder Raina alleged that the parties like Congress, National Conference, and PDP did nothing but to enjoy the luxuries of power. He added that the policies of the BJP leadership were being appreciated by one and all and that is the reason that almost daily, active social and political personalities were coming forward to embrace the party to serve the masses.
