In Delhi, eight people were killed and more than 20 injured after a high-intensity explosion ripped through a car near the Red Fort on Monday evening. Three to four vehicles that were near the car also caught fire and sustained damage. as per information, the blast, which occurred near Gate No. 1 of the Metro station, was so intense that it shattered windows of vehicles parked several metres away and was heard across nearby buildings.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah gave the deatails of the incident.He also visited Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Hospital and met the injured. He also spoke to the doctors and inquired about the health of the injured.

"A call was received regarding an explosion in a car near Gate number 1 of the Red Fort Metro Station," the Delhi Fire Department said. Around 20 fire engines were dispatched to the scene, and the police have cordoned off the entire area, which sees heavy tourist traffic all year. The Red Fort, also known as Lal Qila, is located in the congested Old Delhi area of the national capital. It is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Delhi.The authorities have sounded a high alert in Delhi after the explosion.
