The Centre has released about 80,000 crore rupees to the States in 2020-21, under Special Central Assistance to Tribal Sub-Scheme for tribal areas. Replying the supplementary questions in the Lok Sabha, Union Tribal Affairs Minister Arjun Munda said, these funds are related to Education, Health, Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal husbandry, Drinking Water & Sanitation, Road Connectivity, Skill & Entrepreneurship Development, Livelihood & income generation activities in tribal areas including Integrated Tribal development Project, ITDP, Modified Area Development Approach, MADA, and the Clusters. Muda however said, so far, utilization certificates worth nearly 29,000 crore rupees have only been submitted.
Minister also said, Niti Ayog evaluated the impact of implementation of SCA to TSS in the states. He said, new projects from the States are appraised and approved through Project Appraisal Committee considering the availability of funds, submission of utilization certificates, physical progress and data uploaded on ADIGRAMS by the States.
