Samjwadi party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Tuesday lashed out at the BJP. Addressing a rally in Meerut , he said that everything about the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is fake. All of their promises are fake. They [BJP] are a fake flower and cannot ever be a source of fragrance. He said the BJP's "sun will set" in the 2022 UP Assembly polls. Yadav also said that the farmers of western Uttar Pradesh have decided to close their doors to the BJP. "People had to stand in line for fertilisers and then again in line for when Covid struck," the former Uttar Pradesh chief minister said, adding that sugarcane farmers are still awaiting the clearance of their dues. He accuse the BJP of engaging in the "politics of hate".
Addressing the same rally, RLD leader Jayant Chaudhary said that the youth of Uttar Pradesh has to migrate to other states in search of jobs. He also referred to the ongoing farmers' stir, stating that "no BJP leader" came out in support of the protesters throughout the year-long agitation. The government is unable to do the work that it is supposed to do. We want to fight the elections on our own issues, Chaudhary said.
