Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Dr. Harsh Vardhan said due to the medical fraternity the country has been able to perform the best in the battle of Corona and our country has the highest recovery rate of Covid-19.He was speaking after inaugurating multiple facilities at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh Dr. Harsh Vardhan said that government under leadership of PrimeMinister Narendra Modi is committed to strengthen the AIIMS infrastructure and network in the entire country.Dr.Harsh Vardhan also inaugurated the New Green Campus of National Institute for Research in Environment Health (NIREH) and inaugurates multiple facilities at AIIMS Bhopal on Saturday .The Union Health Minister said that everyone in medical fraternity from Health Professionals to Asha Workers in Corona era served the community . Due to their efforts we have been able to perform the best in the battle of Corona all over the world. He said that today our country has the highest recovery rate. He said that the year 2020 will be remembered for the contribution of scientists and medical professionals in fight against corona. Dr. Harsh Vardhan said that government is committed to conserve and preserve the environment. The Global Solar Alliance, Ujjwala Yojana and Swachcha Bharat Abhiyaan are evidence of our commitment.
-The 56 day long annual pilgrimage to the holy cave shrine of Shri Amarnath Ji will commence on June 28 and will conclude on August 22. Decision over the commencement of the Amarnath pilgrimage was taken in a meeting of Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB). The Amarnath Yatra was cancelled last year due to Covid-19. The authorities had said that the yatra would begin on July 21 and continue till August, however, due to the surge in covid-19 positive cases, the decision was rolled back. Though Covid-19 cases have again started to surge in several states of the country, the board has decided to hold the event with strict covid-19 guidelines. Situated in a narrow gorge at the farther end of Lidder Valley, the Amarnath Shrine stands at 3,888 metres, 46 km from Pahalgam and 14 km from Baltal.
-Rajya Sabha Chairman M. Venkaiah Naidu has stressed that criticism of the government should be informed and credible. He said the opposition parties have rights to criticize the government but opposing every move of the government for the sake of record raise question over the credibility. He has suggested to avoid giving notices under Rule 267 for suspension of the legislative business of the day as a routine practice.He also questioned raising of Points of Order even when there was no Point to be raised. Mr. Naidu's remarks came in the wake of disruption caused by the opposition members in the parliament this week resulting in repeated adjournments of both the Houses. While inaugurating a two-day orientation programme for the newly elected members of Rajya Sabha, the Chairman urged the members to develop in-depth knowledge of issues being taken up in the House.
-The cumulative number of COVID 19 vaccine doses administered in the country has crossed 2.91 crore. A total of 2 crore 91 lakh 92 thousand 547 vaccine doses had been administered till 7 PM yesterday. These include 73 lakh 31 thousand 498 healthcare workers who have taken the 1st dose and 42 lakh 58 thousand 297 healthcare workers who have taken the 2nd dose.The countrywide vaccination drive was rolled out on 16th January and vaccination of the Frontline Workers started from 2nd February. The next phase of vaccination commenced from 1st March for those who are over 60 years of age and for people aged 45 and above with specified co-morbid conditions.
-Information and Broadcasting Minister, Prakash Javadekar on Saturday inaugurated the exhibition to commemorate 75 years of India's Independence, Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav at six places in the country virtually. The six places where Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav exhibitions were inaugurated are Jammu, Pune, Bangaluru, Patna, Bhubheshwar and Imphal. Javadekar said, Independence was achieved after lot of sacrifices by the freedom fighters. He said through exhibition people will come to know about the freedom struggle. He also said that the basis of the objective to celebrate Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav by the Prime Minister is to connect people and make them aware of the freedom struggle.
