Khadi and Village Industry Commission’s e-Market Portal has registered a gross turnover of over one crore 10 lakh rupees in just eight months of its launch. Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Nitin Gadkari lauded Khadi’s successful e-commerce venture.He said that this portal has provided a wide marketing platform for various Khadi and village industry products to a larger population. Gadkari said, efforts should be to reach a turnover of 200 crore rupees per year.As per MSME Ministry, Khadi’s online sale that started with just Khadi Face Masks during the COVID-19 lockdown has evolved into a full-fledged e-market platform with nearly 800 products. Online orders have been received from all 31 States and Union Territories including the far-flung Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Arunachal Pradesh, Kerala, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir among others.KVIC Chairman Vinai Kumar Saxena said that this e-portal has given a big push to Swadeshi. He said that while this has provided artisans an additional platform to sell their goods, it has also displayed people’s love for Khadi and their resolve to make India Atmanirbhar.
-Finance Ministry has extended the due date for furnishing of the Annual returns GSTR-9 and GSTR-9C for the financial year 2019-20 to 31st of this month. In a statement, the Finance Ministry said that the due date was extended with the approval of Election Commission of India.The Ministry said, the decision to this effect was taken in view of the difficulties expressed by the taxpayers in meeting this time limit. Earlier the government had extended the due date of furnishing the Annual Returns from 31st December, 2020 to 28th of February, 2021.
- The AIADMK top leadership held seat-sharing talks with Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday for the Tamil Nadu Assembly election.Chief Minister K Palaniswsami, who is the AIADMK joint coordinator, and his deputy O Panneerselvam, who is the party's coordinator, called on Shah in Chennai late on Sunday.The talks that started around 10 pm were on after two hours, a day after the AIADMK and the BJP initiated the parleys.The BJP has expectations of getting 60 seats that it had identified as "winnable".Shah had earlier arrived in Tamil Nadu for an election rally.The AIADMK had earlier clinched its seat-sharing deal with ally PMK, allotting 23 seats to it.Single-phase elections are scheduled on April 6 in Tamil Nadu.

-In Hockey, the Indian Men's team on Sunday made an electrifying start to their first game of European Tour against Germany. Taking to the field in Krefeld after a gap of around one year, India defeated the four-time Olympic champions Germany 6-1 to resume their International journey on a winning note.For India, midfielder Nilakanta Sharma scored the first goal in the 13th minute. Germany leveled the score with forward player Constantin Staib found the back of the net for the hosts in the 14th minute. Post this, India did not look back with midfielder Vivek Sagar Prasad scoring two consecutive goals in 27th and 28th minute.
