In Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has started a sanitation and cleanliness campaign in Gorakhpur on Sunday. This campaign has been started in wake of the spread of communicable diseases in the rainy season and will be carried out across the state in which fogging and Swachhta will be aimed at. Noteworthy is several districts are in grip of communicable disease and fever in the state.Speaking on the occasion Chief Minister said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given us mantra of Swachhata. He said we all are healthy due to the efforts and work of sanitation workers and these workers should be honoured and felicitated. He said that if one remains neat and clean he will avoid several diseases and save money. Yogi alleged that earlier government in state did not pay any heed towards cleanliness and problems in state specially in Uttar Pradesh. He said the government is carrying out rescue and relief work at war footage against floods in eastern parts of the state. People are being given all possible help including ration and other material. He said rain for the last 15 days in this region has caused floods in rivers. He said Nagar Nigam, Development Authority and Public Work Department- PWD have been asked to work in coordination for clearing water from low-lying areas. He said the government has already done preparations accordingly ahead of the flood situation.
-Kerala government has decided to continue night curfew and lockdown on Sundays across the state amid a surge in COVID-19 infections. The decision was taken at the COVID review meeting held yesterday. 29,682 new virus cases, 25,910 recoveries and 142 deaths were reported in Kerala in the last 24 hours. Kerala government had on Friday issued an order stating that strict action will be taken against those violating the COVID-19 quarantine and isolation norms. The order also stated that provisions of the Disaster Management Act, Kerala State Epidemic Act and other relevant legal provisions will be invoked.
-Over 68 crore 46 lakh COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in the country so far under the Nationwide Vaccination Drive. In the last 24 hours(Sunday), more than 71 lakh 61 thousand vaccine doses were administered Satuday. Over 42 thousand new COVID-19 cases were reported while more than 38 thousand people recovered in the last 24 hours. Three hundred eight people lost their lives during the period. Till now, more than three crore 21 lakh people have recovered from COVID-19. Union Health Ministry said, the COVID recovery rate in the country now stands at 97.42 per cent. The active caseload stands at over four lakh ten thousand. Over 17 lakh 47 thousand COVID tests were conducted yesterday. So far, 53 crore tests have been conducted in the country.
-Textiles Minister Piyush Goyal has asked the Textile industry to aim to increase textiles exports three times from present export value of 33 billion dollar to 100 billion dollar at the earliest. Interacting with the leaders of Textile Industry in New Delhi,Goyal said, we must all collectively resolve to reach the target of 44 billion dollar of exports in 2021-22 for Textiles and Apparel including Handicrafts. He said that his Ministry is working closely with Ministry of Finance to resolve the issue of old dues on incentives for exporters. He said, the government is always open to consider all industry requirements. Goyal said that PLI Scheme for Textiles and Mega Investment Textiles Parks, MITRA Parks Scheme is at advance stage of approval. He said that the launch of Indian brand Kasturi Cotton with international fiber quality, has opened new opportunities for Textile Industry to expand business opportunities.
-China has carried out its first trial run of a new overland trade route through Myanmar in a move seen as a show of support for Myanmar’s Military Junta which is largely isolated at the world stage following capturing power in a February coup. Local media citing a report by state-owned media said that the route’s announcement comes as Beijing appears to be bolstering its ties with the ruling Myanmar junta following a recent visit to Myanmar by its special envoy. The first trial of the China-Myanmar corridor took place last month, which involved a cargo of around 60 containers being sent by road from Yangon, a major Indian Ocean shipping hub, to Chin Shwe Haw on the border with China. It was sent on to Lincang in Yunnan province, from where it went by rail to Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan and a major trade hub in western China. Citing industry insiders, Chinese news portal Yicai.com reported that two further trials would be held soon and regular operations could start as early as next year.
