4th Test, Day 1: India reach 24 for1 at stumps

In Cricket, India reached 24/1 at stumps on Day 1. The hosts lost Shubman Gill as he was dismissed for 0 by James Anderson, in the fourth and final Test match at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad against England. Earlier England were bowled out for 205, as local boy Axar Patel again troubled the visitors by removing four wickets for sixty eight runs.  Spinner Ravichandran Ashwin took three wickets for forty seven runs. Mohammed Siraj took two wickets for forty five runs. For the visitors, Ben Stokes scored fifty five runs while Dan Lawrence scored forty six runs. 
England won the toss and opted to bat first. India made one change, Siraj replaced Jasprit Bumrah. Skipper Virat Kohli's team needs a win or a draw to book a slot with New Zealand in the inaugural World Test Championship final. An England win would put Australia into the decider at Lord's in June. In that case, Australia will face its trans-Tasmanian neighbour New Zealand.
