Two personnel of the Indian Army, including a Naib Subedar, were killed after their vehicle fell into a ditch in Upper Subansiri district of Arunachal Pradesh, a defence official said on Tuesday.According to information from the army, the accident occurred on March 7 near Reddi village, close to the India–China border, when the vehicle was proceeding from Gelemo to Taksing for operational duty under Operation Snow Leopard.
The deceased were identified as Naib Subedar Kulwant Singh of the 908 Field Regiment under the 56 Artillery Brigade and Naik Pradeep Kumar Sharma of the 18 Sikh Regiment, a native of Rae Bareli in Uttar Pradesh, the official said.The driver of the vehicle, Amarjeet Gujjar of the 908 Field Regiment, sustained minor injuries in the accident and is undergoing treatment at the Field Hospital Borarupak. His condition is stated to be out of danger, the official added.
