Rajasthan clears semiconductor, aerospace and defence policies

The Rajasthan Cabinet on Wednesday approved the state's first semiconductor policy and a new aerospace and defence policy aimed at positioning the state as a major manufacturing and services hub for high-technology industries. Briefing media persons after the state cabinet meeting, Industry and Commerce Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore said that under the Rajasthan Semiconductor Policy, the state will promote domestic manufacturing, design, packaging and allied electronics, while encouraging anchor investments, development of world-class semiconductor parks and a strong fabless design ecosystem. He said the policy also focuses on skill development, research and development, technology transfer and green manufacturing practices.The Aerospace and Defence Manufacturing Policy is expected to pave the way for large, mega, and ultra-mega manufacturing projects, including, in the future, the assembly and manufacturing of aircraft. The Semiconductor Policy will facilitate the manufacturing of semiconductor chips in the state.

Today, the Rajasthan Cabinet approved the Semiconductor Policy 2025. A major step towards a future-ready, technology-led Rajasthan.

The cabinet also decided to organise mega parent-teacher meetings (Mega PTMs) across the state on January 23, 2026, on the occasion of Basant Panchami. These meetings are expected to be attended by around 65 lakh parents.
