Separate tourism policy for coastal Karnataka, says CM DKS

The Karnataka Cabinet has decided to formulate a Separate tourism policy for coastal Karnataka. The Cabinet also  decides to recognise Tulu as state's second additional language. Chife Minister D K Shivekumar informed media  on Friday after the Cabinet meeting in Mangaluru. "For the betterment of this coastal area, I think we have to change the perception of this place. There is a big treasure in this coastal area in terms of employment, development and ethical values. he said. The chief minister said the Tulu language, spoken primarily in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts carries the potential for educational and cultural growth. He also said that the state Cabinet approved proposals worth Rs 32,611 crore for development projects comprising Rs 16,000 crore for rural development and an equal amount for the coastal region.

The entire Council of Ministers visited Mangaluru for the first-ever State Cabinet meeting in our city.it is a significant step towards bringing governance closer to our people and addressing the long-standing aspirations and development needs of this region, said Deputy Chief Minister Dr. G. Parameshwara.
