'His Mask & Wig Both Come Off': Mahua slams Sudip Bandyopadhyay

The Mamata Banerjee led-Trinamool Congress seems to be  in a deep crisis. Recent development is related to one MP and a notice to TMC Boss. The part MP Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar’s son, Dr Baidyanath Ghosh Dastidar, has initiated legal action against several party leaders, issuing a legal notice to former West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee. The legal notice, also served to MPs Kalyan Banerjee, Sougata Roy and Mahua Moitra, along with party leader Sonali Guha, seeks a public apology and retraction over alleged statements claiming that he had sought a party ticket to contest the Barasat Assembly seat and over personal allegations directed at his family. Dastidar categorically denied that he had ever expressed interest in contesting elections from Barasat or seeking an MLA nomination from the constituency.
Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Mahua Moitra took sharp jibes at senior party leader and Kolkata North MP Sudip Bandyopadhyay on Sunday, accusing him of misleading the party about his location before he was spotted at Union environment minister Bhupender Yadav's residence in New Delhi. In a post on X, Moitra alleged that Bandyopadhyay had told party leaders he had gone to a hospital in Kolkata due to a stomach problem. She said he was later seen on television at the Union minister's residence in Delhi. "His mask & his wig both come off - Sudip Bandyopadhyay told us he was in Apollo Kolkata with a tummy bug when we suddenly saw him on tv in Delhi in Bhupinder Yadav home. Dada pls change your X handle to @SudipBJPBTeam at least. Don't use our name," she wrote on X.

Bandyopadhyay met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in the national capital on Saturday. The meeting followed an earlier discussion he held with Union Minister Bhupender Yadav. Bandyopadhyay was accompanied by rebel Trinamool MP Satabdi Roy when he visited Yadav's residence in Delhi. Sudip Bandyopadhyay, 77, has been a member of the Lok Sabha for six terms. He represents the Kolkata Uttar constituency of West Bengal and is the leader of the Trinamool Congress in the Lok Sabha.
Trinamool MLA Kunal Ghosh called Bandyopadhyay a "traitor" who "backstabbed" not only the party leadership, but also the "workers who worked for him during the 2024 parliamentary polls and the people who voted for him to fight the BJP". Veteran Trinamool parliamentarian Saugata Roy said he was "deeply hurt" at Bandyopadhyay's move. 
A senior party leader and ex-minister Manas Bhunia resigned from the party.
