FIR filed in Rohtak ASI suicide case

The Haryana Police has registered an FIR in connection with the "suicide" of Assistant Sub-Inspector Sandeep Kumar in Rohtak, an officer said on Wednesday. As per reports, the FIR was registered at Sadar police station in Rohtak a few hours after CM Nayab Singh Saini visited Sandeep’s family in Rohtak’s Ladhot village on Wednesday morning and promised justice. The FIR had not been made public. As per information, the FIR by Sandeep Kumar's wife, Santosh, has been filed against Amneet Kumar, her brother and Punjab AAP MLA Amit Rattan, and others.
ASI Kumar, who was posted in the cyber cell in Rohtak, allegedly shot himself dead on Tuesday, leaving behind a 'final note' that levelled corruption allegations against the late IPS officer Y Puran Kumar, who also served in the same district. The Rohtak police officer's family had demanded that an FIR be registered based on the officer's suicide note and said they would not consent to the post-mortem unless a case was filed.
The case has drawn widespread attention amid the shocking suicides of two senior Haryana police officers and allegations of caste discrimination, corruption, and extortion within the state police. Reports of police-gangster links have added to the credibility crisis of the force.Sandeep Kumar’s note stated he was sacrificing his life to demand an impartial investigation, accusing Puran Kumar’s family of corruption and highlighting a pattern of harassment, misuse of authority, and manipulation of the police system.
