3 Naxalites killed in gunfight with security forces in Jharkhand

Three Naxalites were gunned down during an exchange of fire with security forces in Jharkhand’s Gumla district on Saturday morning, police said.
According to officials, the encounter occurred at Ghagra, a region known for Naxal activities. All three slain extremists were identified as members of the Jharkhand Jan Mukti Parishad (JJMP), a splinter faction of the banned CPI (Maoist) group.“The gunfight took place during an ongoing anti-Naxal operation. The operation is still underway,” said IG (Operations) of Jharkhand Police, Michael S Raj.
