Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla unveiled a statue of Ahilyabai Holkar in Agra on Tuesday, June 30, 2026. Addressing the gathering , Birla said her principles, sacrifice and compassionate style of governance continue to inspire people even 300 years later. He said,Lokmata's personality was synonymous with spiritual and cultural renaissance. For the preservation and promotion of India's cultural heritage, she undertook the renovation of numerous temples, ghats, dharamshalas, and pilgrimage sites across the country, thereby infusing new vitality into Indian culture and heritage, he said. Birla unveiled the statue in the Etmadpur area on the 301st birth anniversary celebration of Ahilyabai Holkar. Maharashtra Legislative Council Chairman Ram Shinde was also present on the occasion. Remembered for her administrative acumen, social welfare initiatives, and patronage of culture and spirituality, Ahilyabai Holkar ruled the Holkar dynasty in the Malwa region during the 18th century.Union minister and Agra MP SP Singh Baghel also addressed the gathering.
