President Droupadi Murmu unveiled a bust of Mahatma Gandhi at the Museum of the City of Skopje on Wednesday, July 22,2026, during her state visit to North Macedonia. Addressing the gathering, the President said, Mahatma Gandhi belonged to India, but his message of truth and non-violence belongs to all humanity. She noted that Gandhiji’s ideals of dialogue, compassion and peaceful coexistence remain highly relevant in a world facing conflict, intolerance and division. The President expressed confidence that the bust will stand as a lasting symbol of friendship between India and North Macedonia and of the common commitment of both countries to peace, tolerance and humanity.
