Dr Ajit Pathak, National President, Public Relations Society of India (PRSI), is the guiding force behind the growth of Public Relations as a strategic management discipline in India. Holding the distinction of being India’s first Ph.D. in Public Relations, Dr Pathak has transformed PRSI from a professional body into a national movement. Since assuming charge of the National Council in 2006, he has been unanimously elected as National President for an unprecedented 21st term, reflecting the complete trust and affection of the PR fraternity across the country. With a stellar corporate career as General Manager, Corporate Communications at Indian Oil Corporation, India’s energy major, he set benchmarks in Corporate Communication, Brand Building and Stakeholder Engagement.
Globally respected, he served as Secretary, Global Alliance of Public Relations and Communication Management and Board Member, IPRA, taking Indian public relations to the world forum. A nation-builder at heart, his leadership has aligned PRSI with national causes – from Corona Awareness Abhiyan to G20 awareness, National Quiz, Harmony newsletter and PRSI Awards for Excellence. His humane, inclusive and academically rigorous approach continues to inspire generations of PR and media professionals.
The award recognizes his lifelong, selfless contribution to nation-building through ethical and effective communication.The ceremony was graced by Arjun Ram Meghwal, Minister of Law and Justice as the Chief Guest, along with Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’, former Chief Minister of Uttarakhand and former Union Minister of Education, and Kalraj Mishra, former Governor of Rajasthan. The “Delhi Gaurav Samman” was conferred on Sunday, August,9, 2026,at the Prime Ministers Museum and Library, New Delhi.
