Several schools in Delhi receive bomb threat, students, staff evacuated

Multiple schools in Delhi received bomb threat messages on Monday, prompting security agencies to launch extensive search operations across the affected campuses.According to Delhi Police all safety protocols were immediately activated and thorough checks of the school premises are being carried out. "All safety protocols are being followed, and a thorough check of the premises is being conducted. So far, nothing suspicious has been found," police said.
According to agency reports, bomb disposal squads, dog squads, local police teams and fire service personnel were deployed to the schools as a precautionary measure, while students and staff were safely evacuated. Search operations are being conducted in classrooms, administrative blocks, playgrounds and other areas of the campuses.Authorities have urged parents and students to remain calm and rely only on official information, adding that investigations are underway to trace the source of the threat messages.
The latest incident comes amid a series of similar bomb threat scares targeting schools and public institutions in the national capital over the past two years. In February this year, several schools, including Army Public School in Dhaula Kuan and Air Force Bal Bharti School on Lodhi Road, received bomb threat emails that were later declared hoaxes after exhaustive searches found nothing suspicious.Earlier this year, three schools in Dwarka and Paschim Enclave also received similar threat emails, triggering evacuations and large-scale search operations before being declared false alarms.
Delhi has witnessed repeated hoax bomb threats targeting schools, colleges, hospitals, courts and government buildings. In one of the biggest such incidents, over 200 schools across Delhi-NCR received bomb threat emails in May 2024, leading to mass evacuations and widespread panic before the threats were found to be fake.Security agencies said every bomb threat is treated as genuine until proven otherwise, with standard operating procedures mandating immediate evacuation, sanitisation of the premises and detailed searches before normal activities resume.Officials said investigations into the latest threats are continuing, and further details will be shared after the search operations are completed.
