PM Modi addresses IIT Delhi graduates at 57th Convocation

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday attended the convocation ceremony of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi as the chief guest and congratulated graduating students, urging them to pursue their dreams while contributing to the nation.More than 3,000 students, including 587 PhD scholars, received their degrees at the ceremony,according to media sources.
Addressing the graduates, Modi said their families were proud of their achievements and that he shared the same feeling. He encouraged students to view their degrees not only as an academic milestone but also as an opportunity to serve the country.


The Prime Minister also presented several academic honours to meritorious students, including the President’s Gold Medal, Director’s Gold Medal, Shankar Dayal Sharma Gold Medal and Perfect Ten Gold Medal.Highlighting the strong performance of female students, Modi praised the achievements of women graduates and said many had emerged as top performers.
Reflecting on the students’ journey at IIT Delhi, Modi said graduates were likely thinking about their careers, salaries, new cities and start-ups as they prepared for the next phase of their lives.He encouraged them to cherish their convocation day and remember the friends, teachers and support staff who contributed to their journey at the institute.“Everyone has a different path and dreams,” Modi said, while urging students to remain grateful to those who supported them during their IIT years.During the ceremony, Modi also virtually inaugurated ‘Param Pragya’, an artificial intelligence-powered high-performance supercomputing facility at IIT Delhi’s Sonipat campus.The facility is expected to enhance research capabilities in  artificial intelligence, data science, advanced computing and interdisciplinary research, further strengthening IIT Delhi’s technological infrastructure.
