Actor-turned-politician Vijay, founder of the TVK, on Monday launched a sharp attack on Tamil Nadu’s ruling dispensation, calling DMK regime a “good for nothing, ‘ulta model’ government.”Addressing party workers during TVK’s Executive Council meeting in Vellore, Vijay framed the 2026 Assembly elections as a direct contest between himself and Chief Minister M. K. Stalin.“In the Tamil Nadu elections, the competition is between Vijay and Stalin Sir. Tamil Nadu is Vijay, Vijay is Tamil Nadu. The war is between TVK and DMK,” he declared. He accused the ruling government of operating a “fake model government” and described it as a “stand-up comedy state government” currently governing the state. “This election will be a historic election, and it’s a miracle election,” he said, energising party cadres ahead of the crucial polls.

Vijay further characterised the upcoming 2026 Assembly elections as a battle between what he termed the “pure force” of TVK and the “evil force” of the DMK. Alleging that the Chief Minister had made “fake promises” and was “cheating people,” the actor-politician vowed a more direct and people-centric style of governance if his party comes to power.“After we form a government in Tamil Nadu, I will personally meet everyone and go to every district and meet my people. This election is with the Tamil Nadu people and against the DMK government. The competition is between the Tamil Nadu people and Stalin sir,” he said.
