Congress has promised sops for farmers, covid warriors, teachers and medium scale enterprises. ‘False’ cases against journalists will also be withdrawn if the Congress comes to power in UP. Generaal Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Wednesday released the party's election manifesto in Lucknow. Priyanka Gandhi said, the manifesto is what the general public said and wanted, "Like Chhattisgarh, farmers' loans will be waived as soon as our government is formed. Paddy and wheat will be purchased at ₹2500 per quintal and sugarcane at ₹400 per quintal. Electricity bill will be halved and dues of the pandemic period will be waived," she said. The Congress, in fact, released three manifestos Bharti Vidhan for the youth, Shakti Vidhan for women and Unnati Vidhan for the general UP population.

Meanwhile, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), has decided not to release its manifesto. BSP chief Mayawati had made this clear in November last year when she said manifesto release by rival parties was “mere flaunting of false promises”.
