Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, Dr L Murugan has said, the Centre is committed to enhancing the 'Ease of Doing Business' for the Film Industry. He interacted with the officials of the South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce in Chennai on Friday.
In the meeting, he said the Information & Broadcasting Ministry has launched a unified portal for securing single-window clearance for film shooting from various departments. Murugan said the Ministry has signed an MoU with the IIT, Mumbai, to establish a world class institute for training in animation and VFX.
-Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reiterates that the state government is committed to probe the Lakhimpur Kheri violence thoroughly. He said, an Special Investigation Team - SIT consisting of senior police officials has been constituted and a Judicial Commission has also been appointed to probe the matter. He said the state government has also appealed to citizens repeatedly to share the videos related to Sunday’s incident in which 8 persons have died. Participating in a TV channel’s programmes in Gorakhpur on Friday, the Chief Minister accused opposition parties of venturing into political tourism in Lakhimpur. He said the opposition parties are trying to create a situation of class struggle in the district. Questioning the motive of the opposition parties, the Chief Minister asked why no political party visited the state during the hard times of Covid pandemic. He said that only the BJP governments of central and the state helped people during those crisis days.
-Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal has called upon ASEAN bloc to do away with the Non-Tariff Barriers (NTBs). Addressing the Special Plenary with the trade ministers of the Region - Indo-ASEAN Business organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry, he also called for curbing the misuse of Free Trade Agreements by third parties often outside the ASEAN Region. Goyal said it is unfortunate that in the recent past, India had to deal with several restrictive barriers on the exports to the ASEAN region, particularly in the Agriculture and Auto sector.He said these restrictions only result in reciprocal action from other countries including from India and will hurt the long term desire to expand trade between the two countries. Mr Goyal also called upon the ASEAN Bloc to allow reciprocal FTA concessions to imports from India to correct the skewed trade imbalance in favour of the ASEAN.
-Minister of State for Railways Darshana Jardosh has dedicated the new version of the song -- Mile Sur Mera Tumhara -- sung and prepared by all Railway employees and officers. This is part of the initiatives being undertaken by the Ministry to celebrate the 75th Anniversary of India's Independence -- Azad Ka Amrit Mahotsav and to showcase the Indian Railways' achievements, developments and integration on pan India basis. Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Jardosh said, as a part of Azaadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, this song represents Unity in Diversity. The new version of the song would not only motivate the Railway employees, but also the entire Nation.
