Unwavering love for Radio: Ramesh Kumar donates his 7 radio sets to Akashvani

An emotional and inspiring scene on Thursday witnessed at the museum of Hisar Akashvani  when a local resident, Ramesh Kumar, donated seven historic radio sets—his lifelong collection. Known for his deep passion for radio, Ramesh Kumar presented these sets to enhance the museum’s collection. Sharing his memories, Ramesh Kumar said that radio has never been just a device for him, but an integral part of his life. He recalled that during the days when he used to run a roadside cart, the radio would remain his constant companion throughout the day. The songs and programs broadcast on it made his hard work easier. Like a true companion, radio stood by him in both joy and sorrow. 
At present, Ramesh Kumar works as a gatekeeper in a private school, but he continues to listen to the radio throughout his duty hours. Through radio, he stays connected with information and entertainment from around the world, which helps him perform his work with happiness and energy. 
The special feature of the seven radio sets donated to Akashvani is that they are 30 to 50 years old. Ramesh Kumar had preserved them with great care, and all of them are still in working condition. He mentioned that although these radios are very close to his heart, placing them in the museum will allow future generations to witness the glorious history of radio. After all, radio has been like a lifelong companion to him, giving him strength and joy even during times of hard work.
