Ever heard the term 'soni kudi' folks? Time and again, we often use this terminology to appreciate the charm and beauty of a girl. But hey, where does this terminology originate? From the beautiful heartland of Punjab which is famous all over the country for some raging and enchanting beauties. Be it in terms of good looks and sense of fashion or productive and engaging skillsets, the divas from Punjab are ahead in the rat-race by a fair margin, more often than not. Well, that's why, it's no surprise that as far as getting vogue goals and styling tips is concerned, a lot of divas from all the country prefer our leading divas of Punjab for some tips and brilliance. Garvita Sadhwani opens up on being part of 'Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai'

Actress Garvita Sadhwani, who plays the role of Ruhi in Rajan Shahi’s Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, says that she is ecstatic to be part of such a big project. She adds that people can relate to the show, and that is why it has been running successfully since so many years.“I believe when it comes to the show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, it has a very large legacy. It is all about emotions and relationships. What I think resonates most beautifully with the audience till date is that it portrays all kinds of relationships, the ups and downs that are often seen in families, resentment, and jealousy, everything is portrayed very honestly. I think this is the most real part of the show, and also the part that connects with the audience,” she says.
Talking about her character, she adds, “I think Ruhi, as a character, is very compicated, with a lot of layers. Whether she does something wrong or right, she is all heart. She speaks from the heart and somewhere, at many points, it's evident by the way she emotes on screen. There’s also a lingering sense of loss. She has so many shades. In terms of drama, in terms of a daily soap, it is a very dramatic and expressive character. There are quite a few surprises because of Ruhi's history, she has been very pampered by her mother and her father, but she has had her share of struggles too. When a person has trauma, they are quite unpredictable and so is Ruhi. She is very unpredictable.” Her family is also thrilled to see her in the show, she says, adding, “I think my family was really happy when I got the show. Even now, they all watch the show together. My sister and my brother-in-law, who live in the US, also watch it. Even my extended family, everybody was super proud I got the show. I got so many calls. Even though I have done shows before this, but being part of this show was very, very huge, and for my family. They are my biggest supporters. My sister is the reason why I got into the industry. When she saw myself on the poster, I think she got very emotional.”
Talking about the social media following of the show, she says, “I think Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai is one show where I have realised the power of social media. I realised that not all TV shows have this kind of following, this show has next level following. Within a week of entering the show, I could feel the difference. People might have seen your work earlier; but it's being discussed at a different level. After my first few episodes, I was replacing someone else, then also the acceptance was there. Everybody was loving my work, calling me a good actor, giving me a lot of validation. It was so overwhelming at the end of the day as an actor you need validation. So, when people are saying good things, it feels really amazing. And the fan following of this show, I would like to say that, they are the big reason that this show is still running because these people are so loyal, they watch the show with so much love, and they are equally critical. I respect all of that and even if there will be a small change, there will be a whole discussion. And I think that's what makes the people so interested and curious to know what will happen next.”
Anuraadha Tewari: I lucked out right at the beginning of my career

Writer- Director Anuraadha Tewari says that both luck and hard work go together in the industry. She adds that one cannot replace the other.“I think, being at the right place, at the right time, plays a role in shaping things, despite your talent and hard work. I have seen that in the best of times some things happen with great ease and, at other times, the same things become tough. I remain as hard working throughout. So clearly, luck has a huge part to play. Having said that, I think there is no real replacement for talent and hard work. If you have that, no matter what your luck is, you will get somewhere. The Universe will listen to you. What is meant for you will arrive in its own Divine Time,” she says.
Talking about her experience with luck, she says, “I think I lucked out right in the beginning! It was my Day 1 in Mumbai. I had just arrived from Delhi, having finished my MA in Mass Com from Jamia. I didn’t really know people. I got the number of a company called Plus Channel which was very big in the 90's. I was instantly connected to its head Mr Amit Khanna ( the famous Lyricist) because they thought I was Anuradha from their Delhi Branch! Mr Khanna proceeded to blow me up because he thought I was that Anuradha and, later, felt guilty when he realised his mistake. Out of sheer grace, he called me over for an interview the same evening. I was new and got lost in the city and arrived a whole hour late. Yet, when I walked into the room, who did I see? Mahesh Bhatt himself, the Business Partner of the Company. In his classic style he asked me, ‘Are you any good?’, In my unconsciously cocky style I said, ‘No Sir, I am brilliant!’. He looked at me and said, ‘You're hired!’ I didn't even know for what! (laughs) But just like that I had my very first job as an Associate Director on Day 1 in Mumbai City. How's that for luck?”
Meanwhile, the Writer-Director says she believes in manifestations too. “I am such a believer of Manifestations. To me, that is pure Quantum Physics. When you know how to charge your electromagnetic field positively, you attract the right things. That is the simple Law of Attraction. Interestingly though, people make a small mistake in understanding. You can 'manifest' anything in the Astral Plane ie in the Thoughts Dimension. It is the 'Actualisation', the converting into Physical dimension, that needs your positivity and concentration. I am a thorough believer of this and I witness tiny miracles on a daily basis,” she adds with great joy.
'If you love what you do, you should do it wholeheartedly without complaints': Megha Sharma

Megha Sharma, who was last seen in Pandya Store, believes that when one is doing what they love and following their passion, there shouldn’t be any complaints. Speaking in reference to the format of a daily soap, she said, “I don't understand why some actors constantly complain about the format of daily soaps. Everyone entering this industry knows how it operates, so there's no point in complaining. If you love what you do, you should do it wholeheartedly without complaints.”
“I believe that to gain something, you have to make sacrifices. So, in my opinion, actors complaining about the format of daily soaps are unfounded,” she added. But what about actors who don’t like to be labeled as TV actors? She said, “Television has shaped me into who I am today and has provided everything I've wanted. I want to proudly declare that I am a TV actor, and I believe all TV actors should feel the same pride. Whatever work you're doing today, it's because of TV. You've learned from TV and reached where you are today, so always proudly declare, ‘Yes, I am a TV actor.’”
For Megha, the best part about working on television is that everyone on the set becomes like family. “You get to interact with different personalities and form strong bonds with your co-actors. You learn a lot from them every day, experiencing new things and gaining valuable insights. Another thing I love about being a part of the television industry is that fans recognize you for your characters. It lets us know that we're doing good work and that people appreciate us, which is something I really love,” she ended.
'Country of Blind' film selected at the Saudi Arabia Film Festival, Actress elated

Actress Namita Lal is elated as her film Country Of Blind is going to the Saudi Arabia Film Festival and will be premiering on 8th of May. Sharing her happiness Namita says, "The journey started with the movie getting released by Reliance in the USA across 35 theatres. It got rave reviews and also entered the race for Oscars. It was in the race along with ‘12th Fail’ and ‘2018’ - the last three Indian films to reach the final 265 films. So it was a huge honor for all of us. I am the title producer and one of the main characters in the film. It's a very different film shot in the valleys of Kashmir. We had a very talented cast consisting of Hina Khan and Shoaib. Anushka Sen is also a part of the movie playing an important role.”
Namita also adds, "Country Of Blind is the only Indian film selected recently for the Saudi Film Festival run by the government of Saudi Arabia. This is the 10th year for them but the first time they have Indian films in the list . They have invited us to come for the screening on 8 May. It's a huge honor to be representing India in such an exclusive film festival which is held in this beautiful location of Dharan. It's a place called Ithra, which has the King Abdul Fazaz Cultural center. I am so honored and excited to be part of the film festival. I will be there for three full days, including the closing ceremony on the 9th. And I'm looking forward to meeting a host of producers from the region watching their films, including some Arabic films. The event will also host dignitaries from Saudi Arabia and the Gulf. I can’t wait for the film to be released in India which is likely to be towards the end of July.”
Namita also shares how festivals are important for a good film. She says, "Festivals are a very important part of a film's journey. But this one actually is more than a festival. It is the Saudi Arabian government film festival. It was selected by them from a range of Indian cinema they've seen and so it's a bigger honor for the entire team.”
Country Of Blind is both written and directed by the internationally acclaimed filmmaker Rahhat Kazmi. It is produced by Rahhat Kazmi, Tariq Khan, Zeba Sajid, and Namita Lal, with co-production support from Jayant Jaiswal, Jitendra Rai, and Ahmer Haider.
