Telangana begins Door-to-Door fever survey across the state

Government has said that six members can be registered using one mobile number on Co-WIN. Earlier, the existing limit was four members. The CoWIN digital platform has been developed to streamline the process of vaccination for various categories of beneficiaries across the country. Union Health Ministry said, a new utility feature has been introduced under 'raise an issue' in Co-WIN account. Through this new feature, the beneficiary can revoke its current Covid vaccination status from fully vaccinated to partially vaccinated or unvaccinated status and also partially vaccinated to unvaccinated status. The vaccination status can be corrected by the beneficiaries, where in occasional isolated cases, the vaccination Certificates are generated due to inadvertent data entry errors by the vaccinator in updation of vaccination data of beneficiaries. The Ministry said, the Changes may take 3 to 7 days after submitting the online request through raise an issue utility. Such beneficiaries can get their due vaccine dose, as per the existent standard guidelines once new vaccination status is successfully d in the system.

-Manipur celebrated its Statehood Day Golden Jubilee at the 1st Battalion Manipur Rifles Parade Ground, Imphal on Friday,January 21. As part of the Golden Jubilee celebration, Chief Minister N.Biren Singh released a commemorative Postage Stamp of the 50th year of Manipur’s Statehood. In a video message on the occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the people of the State. Praising the people of the State, he said that resilience and unity of the Manipuri people in the face of ups and downs of their history is their true strength. Prime Minister Modi also paid his tributes to the sacrifices and efforts of each and every person who have contributed in the State’s journey. Stating that Manipur deserves peace and freedom from bandhs and blockades, he further expressed happiness that the State and its people could fulfill this desire for peace. Speaking as the Chief Guest of the occasion, Chief Minister N. Biren Singh wished the people of the State on the Golden Jubilee Celebration. He said the day is observed across the State in all districts, however, unfortunately, due to COVID, there are certain restrictions in the public gathering. 

-In Uttar Pradesh, the nomination process for the first phase of assembly polls ended on Friday. A total of 815 candidates have filed the nomination papers. Four hundred twenty six candidates filed the nomination on the last day. Also, 10 candidates filed the nomination papers for the second phase of the elections which began  Friday.  In the first phase, polling will be held on 10th of February  in 58 assembly constituencies of 11 districts. These districts are Shamli, Meerut, Muzaffarnagar, Bagpat, Hapur, Ghaziabad, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Bulandshahar, Mathura, Agra and Aligarh. The Election Commission has provided the facility of filing nominations online due to rise in Covid19 cases in the state. This facilitated the candidates to a great extent. Some of the well-known candidates in the first phase are former Uttarakhand Governor Baby Rani Maurya from Agra Rural assembly constituency, cabinet minister in the current government Shrikant Sharma from Mathura, BJP candidate Sangeet Som from Sardhana Meerut and former cabinet minister in Samajwadi Party government Shahid Manzoor from Kithaur in Meerut who is going to polls again on the party’s ticket.  Moreover, the Bharatiya Janata Party’s national president JP Nadda launched the party’s door to door campaign in Agra  where the polling will be held in the first phase. He also held a meeting with party office bearers of 40 assembly constituencies of Braj region.

-In the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, an ancient Shiva temple was found during the pond excavation in Sartha village of Nakki Panchayat in Khoon block of Majalta tehsil of Udhampur district. It is believed that this temple is hundreds of years old but how old the temple is will be known only after archeological investigation. The people of the area are reaching this Shiva temple everyday to offer prayers. Due to the importance of archeology, further excavation has been banned on the instructions of the district administration. The ancient temple came into existence when the people of the village were digging the area on the behalf of Rural Development Department to construct a pond on Shamlat land. During the excavation, a structure of ancient stones was found in the soil. On further excavation, the stairs, the platform of the temple and an ancient Shivling established in the middle were found. The square structure of the temple is about 25 to 30 square feet.

-In Telangana, door-to-door fever survey commenced across the State from Friday. The State government took the decision in view of rising Covid cases in the State. Also to trace asymptomatic cases and those who are not undergoing tests despite symptoms of cough and cold.  In Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) limits teams comprising of an Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANM), an Accredited Social Health Activist (ASHA), and staffers from the GHMC and Department of Health, Medical & Family Welfare collected contact details of individuals with Covid-19 symptoms. Home isolation kits were distributed to people with symptoms and their health status would be followed up, said officials of the civic body. The teams also referred some persons to the nearest Basti Dawakhanas and Urban Primary Health Centres (UPHCs) for treatment.
