The Union Budget 2022-23 will be presented by the Union Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on 1st of next month in paperless form. The Union Budget 2022-23 would also be available on the Mobile App after the completion of Budget presentation process. A Union Budget Mobile App was also launched for hassle-free access of budget documents by Members of Parliament and the public. The mobile App allows complete access to 14 Union Budget documents, including the Budget Speech, Annual Financial Statement commonly known as Budget, Demand for Grants. Finance Bill.
-Health and Family Welfare Ministry has said that children attaining age of 15 years as on January 2023, are eligible for vaccination under 15 to 18 age group. Additional Secretary of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare Vikas Sheel has written a letter to States and Union Territories. In the letter, it has been clarified that those born in years 2005, 2006 and 2007 are eligible in 15-18 years' category for the Covid-19 vaccination. The letter further states that those who have already attained or would be attaing the age of 60 years as on January 2023 are eligible for precautionary dose. Health Ministry has stressed that no eligible citizen is left out of the benefit of the Covid-19 vaccine.
-In Assam, two militants outfit Tiwa Liberation Army and United Gorkha People’s Organization on Thursday laid down arms in front of Chief Minister Himanata Biswa Sarma. A total of 77 members of Tiwa Liberation Army from various districts of Assam surrendered today. On the other hand, 169 cadres of the United Gorkha People’s Organization laid down arms. The Tiwa Liberation Army was founded in 2014 while the Gorkha outfit was formed in 2007. Both the outfits deposited 277 various types of arms along with ammunitations. The Chief Minister has also given one time financial grant to various members of militant groups who have already laid down arms.
-Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has said that the party will announce the CM face in Punjab. He was addressing a virtual election rally at Jalandhar on Thursday. Rahul Gandhi said that the workers have desired, the CM face should be announced in the state. He said that he had talked to Charanjit Singh Channi and Navjot Singh Sidhu and they agreed to accept the decision of the high command. Rahul Gandhi said that the choice of workers will be asked to decide the CM face. Earlier, Rahul Gandhi accompanied by CM Charanjit Singh Channi and Punjab Congress President Navjot Singh Sidhu visited Amritsar and paid obeisance at Harmandir Sahib and Durgiana Mandir and Bhagwan Valmiki Tirath Sthal at Ram Tirath.
-The Tamilnadu Government has decided to reopen schools from 1st February. The Chief Minister on Thursday reviewed the prevailing Covid situation in the State along with State health minister, Chief Secretary and top officials at the State Secretariat on the event of the lock down restrictions coming to a close on the 31st of this month.According to the announcement, Colleges, Universities and technical training schools and coaching centers will start functioning from February 1st. The night curfew from 10 pm to 5 am and the full lockdown on Sundays will be relaxed. Shopping malls, seminars, cultural events, beauty salons, multiplex cinemas theaters, restaurants, gyms and other shops are allowed to function with 50 percent customers. Hundred people are allowed to attend weddings and 50 persons for funerals will be allowed. The model code of conduct with regard to elections will be followed strictly till the 15th of February.
