President Droupadi Murmu has said that the government is taking several steps to improve the lives of citizens. She stressed that the skills and strengths of people must be harnessed for the nation’s development. The President on Saturday addressed a special session at Prasanthi Nilayam, Pitapathi in Andhra Pradesh, commemorating the centenary of Bhagwan Sri Sathya Sai Baba. She paid homage to Sri Sathya Sai Baba at the Sai Kulwant Hall. Appealing for collective participation, the President said spiritual organisations, NGOs, the private sector and citizens all have an important role to play. She said, India can become a Viksit Bharat by 2047 with the collective efforts of all. Highlighting the role of Sri Sathya Sai Baba, the President said, he devoted his life to the welfare of society and people. She said, Sri Sathya Sai Baba always emphasised the belief that service to humanity is service to God. She said, Baba’s devotees across the world continue to serve the underprivileged, and his message of selfless love expressed through selfless service continues to inspire the people.
