The Education Ministry has released guidelines for parent participation in home-based learning during school closure and beyond.These guidelines emphasize on the need to create a safe, engaging and a positive learning environment.Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank' said that home is the first school and parents are the first teachers. He said, in this new normal of the pandemic, parents' role is pivotal for children's growth and learning.He said, these guidelines aim to provide information about participation and engagement with children during the school closure.These guidelines provide many simple tips for parents and others to facilitate children in Home based learning. These suggestive activities are in accordance with the various stages of school education as per National Education Policy.Guidelines lay emphasis on improving children's learning by monitoring and addressing their learning gaps.
-Union Minister for Minority Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi has said that a nationwide “Jaan Hai To Jahaan Hai” awareness campaign will be launched on Monday to create awareness on Corona vaccination in rural and remote areas of the country.The campaign also aims to “Crush and Curb” the rumours and apprehensions, being spread by some vested interests regarding the on-oing vaccination drive. Naqvi said that the Ministry of Minority Affairs, along with various Socio-Educational Organisations, NGOs and Women Self Help Groups will launch the awareness campaign.He said that the nationwide awareness campaign will be launched from Minority concentrated District of Rampur in Uttar Pradesh and it will also be organised in different parts of the country. The Union Minister said that some vested interests are trying to spread rumours and apprehensions regarding Corona vaccines in some areas of the country.He said, such elements are enemies of the health and well-being of the people.
-In order to understand the local problems of farmers of North East Region and provide scientific solutions, the Department of Biotechnology has issued a Special Call under Biotech-Krishi Innovation Science Application Network (Biotech-KISAN) scheme. Ministry of Science & Technology has said, the present call specifically focuses on the North East Region as it is predominantly agrarian with 70 percent of its workforce engaged in agriculture and allied sector for livelihood. It further added that the region produces merely 1.5 per cent of country‘s food grain and continues to be a net importer of food grains even for its domestic consumption.Under this scheme, Biotech-KISAN Hubs in North East Region will collaborate with top scientific institutions across the country, State Agricultural Universities, Krishi Vigyan Kendras, existing state agriculture extension services and system and other Farmers’ organizations in the North East Region for demonstrations of technologies and training of farmers.
-The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Saturday submitted its investigation report in connection with a fake COVID-19 vaccination drive organised in a society at Kandivali in Mumbai.According to the report submitted by the Deputy Municipal Commissioner (Zone 7) Vishwas Shankarwar, the said vaccination camp held at Hiranandani Heritage Society in Kandivali in the western suburbs of the city, was done without BMC's permission or without any agreement with any hospital. The civic body said Kandivali police have started investigation in the case and arrested four suspects. About 390 residents of Hiranandani Heritage society were vaccinated against COVID-19 in the housing complex on May 30.The beneficiaries paid a total of Rs. 4,56,000 which amounted to Rs. 1,260 each dose.But later they found that they had received certificates in the name of different hospitals.The residents lodged a complaint with the police as they grew suspicious.
-As cities gradually unlock, Railways is helping to bring back workers from different parts of the country.In the last seven days, around 32 lakh 56 thousand passengers including migrant workers and other passengers traveled by long distance mail & express trains from areas like Eastern UP, Bihar, Jharkhand, Bengal and Odisha to various destinations including Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Surat, Ahmedabad and Chennai. Indian Railways is operating Mail and Express Specials, Holiday Specials and Summer Special trains to facilitate the movement of migrant labour from Bihar, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh and Odisha to the Metros including Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Chennai. All these trains are being operated as fully reserved trains keeping in view the COVID protocol. For the next ten days, around 29 lakh 15 thousand passengers including migrant workers and other passengers have booked their tickets in long distance mail express trains.The Zonal Railways are actively coordinating with various industry associations and business houses to ascertain the demand and facilitate the movement of the workers accordingly.
