President Ram Nath Kovind has inaugurated a 450 bedded Government Teaching hospital at Chamrajnagar Institute of Medical Sciences in Karnataka on Thursday. Speaking on the occasion the President emphasised on reaching healthcare to the remotest parts of the country. He noted that the Government Teaching hospital that he inaugurated today will help the people mostly comprising of tribals in Chamrajnagar to access healthcare services. Admiring the fact that the hospital is situated in the backward Chamarajanagar district, bordering Tamilnadu and Kerala, the President said that the people living in these states will also benefit from it. The hospital will train 750 doctors and para medical staff every year.The President underscored the need to make India atma nirbhar in healthcare services, which he said would be possible if there is sufficient manpower and infrastructure. He appreciated the efforts of healthcare warriors in creating a world record in vaccinating 25 million people in a single day and informed that India will soon cross the one billion mark in terms of vaccination.
-Union Minister Piyush Goyal has said Skill Development will be the core of all government schemes. He pointed out that the government is pumping in more resources in the many industrial, textile and automobile parks, and each such Park should include a relevant Skill Development institution.Addressing a Webinar on Thursday, Goyal said the National Education Policy being implemented across the country too lays stress on Skill Development. It envisages Dual Degree programmes, tie-ups with foreign Universities, student exchange programme and the promotion of Liberal Arts besides Academics. In the Free Trade Agreement and Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement talks being negotiated with many countries such as the UK, Australia or Canada, India is trying to include Education as a key sector of cooperation and incorporate tie-ups among Universities keeping NEP as the basis and aiming to reduce fees.
-Vice President, M. Venkaiah Naidu has called upon the scientists to come out with innovative research to protect and conserve the rich bio-resources and livestock of the North Eastern Region. He said this during the visit to ICAR- National Research Center on Mithun in Dimapur, Nagaland on Thursday. Noting that North Eastern India is an important biodiversity hotspot, Naidu said Our scientific institutions should work for development of location specific technologies which are sustainable, climate resilient and culturally in sync with the tribal cultures of the region. He said, ICAR-National Research Centre on Mithun, the only institute of its kind in the world solely dedicated to the conservation, propagation and development of Mithun which is endemic to the North-eastern States. The Vice President said it is praiseworthy that the National Research Center on Mithun has done excellent work in protection and preservation of this majestic animal.
-In the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, troops of Border Security Force (BSF) on Thursday foiled a major bid by terrorists to smuggle weapons from Pakistan along the International Border in Samba district of Jammu and and seized a huge cache of arms and ammunition. The arms and ammunition seizure include four pistols, eight pistol magazines and 232 live rounds of ammunition.

Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Vivek Ram Chaudhari will review the parade. The Air Display will commence with flag bearing sky divers of the famous Akash Ganga Team dropping out of AN-32 aircraft in their colourful canopies.The flypast will include heritage aircraft, modern transport aircraft and frontline fighter aircraft. The ceremony will conclude with spellbinding aerobatic display.
