The schools in national Capital Delhi will remain closed for physical classes till further orders in view of the prevailing air quality situation. Delhi Government's Directorate of Education in a circular said, the environment department has directed to close all the schools with immediate effect till further orders of the Commission for Air Quality Management in National Capital Region and adjoining areas and therefore, all government and private schools will remain closed till further orders. It said, online teaching learning activities and the examinations for Board classes would be conducted as per guidelines issued earlier. The Delhi government on 13th of this month had announced closure of schools and other educational institutions in view of the deteriorating air quality in Delhi.
-The Central team led by Joint Secretary, Rajiv Sharma, Ministry of Home Affairs will visit the monsoon hit districts of Tamil Nadu to assess the damages and suggest recommendations to the Union Government. The Tamil Nadu Government said that the teams will start their assessment work tomorrow. While one team will visit Southern Districts of the State, another team will visit the Northern Districts. The teams will later have a discussion with the Chief Minister on 24th before leaving for Delhi.
-BJP President J P Nadda has appointed Maharashtra BJP leader Vinod Tawde as the National General Secretary of the party. Mr. Tawde is a prominent Maratha leader and has served in several organisational positions in Maharashtra. He has a base in Konkan and Mumbai. Similarly, Rituraj Sinha and Asha Lakhra have been made National Secretary of the party. The BJP also appointed two new spokespersons Bharti Ghosh, a former IPS officer from West Bengal, and Shehzad Poonawalla.
-More than 8.4 crore unorganized workers have registered at the e-Shram portal till now. The number of Unorganised Sector workers registration at the portal has been rising steadily over the 12 weeks since its launch. Workers in the age group of ‘18-40’ have the highest share, followed by those in the age group ‘40-50’. The huge success in registration is due to unified command and control and regular directions and meticulous monitoring by Labour and Employment Minister Bhupender Yadav. The registrations of unorganised workers in the e-Shram portal can be through Common Service Centres, Self, or through State Seva Kendras. Over the past 12 weeks, West Bengal, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar have had the highest average growth rates of more than 15 percent regarding the registration of workers at the e-Shram portal. The top five categories are Agriculture, Construction, Apparel, Automobile and Transportation and Household and Domestic Workers.
-Kerala witnessed a considerable dip in Covid 19 case figures as it confirmed 5080 new infection cases on Sunday. In all the districts, there are only less than a thousand infected people. A total of 53,892 samples were tested in the last 24 hours. The test positivity rate is 9.42 percent at present. In all, 40 deaths were also confirmed due to COVID today, taking the total death toll to 37,495 in the state. Bringing respite, 7,908 recoveries were also reported today. At present, the total number of active cases is 58,088 in the state.
