After the presentation of the Union Budget 2021-22 in Parliament, prime minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation and termed it the "sabka" Budget,"The Budget aims to widen new opportunities for growth, new openings for youth, new high to human resources. This Budget will bring several positive changes for individuals, investors, industry and infrastructure sector. It's a pro-active budget that gives boost to wealth as well as wellness," the prime minister said.
Indian stock markets surged sharply on Monday as investors welcomed the announcements made by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in the Union Budget 2021.Markets conitnued to rise as the finace minister presented a holistic roadmap for economic recovery. At around 2 pm, Sensex was up almost 1,900 points or over four per cent, while Nifty reclaimed 14,100 levels after rising over 3 per cent.

"But this is an ordinary Budget in unprecedented times through which Govt wants to save itself by taking the route of privatisation. Responding to Rahul Gandhi's tweet Nirmla Sitharamn said, "My Budget speaks for itself. I don't need to respond to Rahul Gandhi's tweet where he refers to 'crony capitalism' every 15 days. Can he explain why the development of Vizhinjam port in Kerala was handed over to a crony capitalist when the Congress was in power. If he can explain, then I will agree that he can go about with his pet project of tweeting about crony capitalism. ...Either he doesn't understand any of what he tweets or he is ill-advised," says FM.
