This supplementary allocation is to be in conjunction with the existing Rs 9.12 lakh crore annual budget that was previously presented. The proposed funding is being viewed as a strategic step leading up to the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections. The government aims to emphasise flagship infrastructure and developmental projects over the next two years, with officials stating that this enhanced expenditure will facilitate the faster implementation of essential initiatives, alongside reinforcing the state’s extensive development agenda.
According to agency reports,Finance Minister Suresh Khanna said the additional allocations are intended to ensure the timely completion of ongoing projects and facilitate works undertaken in the public interest."The provisions in the supplementary budget are specifically meant to complete the ongoing schemes and carry out the necessary work in the public interest. This budget will further accelerate the state's development," Khanna said.
