Union Home and Co-operative Minister Amit Shah has expressed confidence that cooperatives can make a huge contribution to making India's economy worth 5 trillion US dollars. Speaking at the 75th foundation day of Amul Dairy at Anand in Gujarat on Sunday, he said that there can be no better way than cooperation to fulfill the dream of self-reliant India. Shah said that agitations are for the solution of the problems, not for creating problems. He was referring to the farmers' agitation in Kheda district of Gujarat which had sown the seeds of co-operative movement and resulted in the creation of Amul Dairy. He said that Sardar Patel had strong bonding with the Amul Dairy and Co- operative movements. He said that farmers’ agitation against the exploitation of private dairy had resulted in the creation of dairy cooperatives due to positive thinking of then farmers' leader Tribhuvandas Patel and inspiration of Sardar Patel. He said that this example was not only a milestone for dairy cooperatives but also a guiding force for the present agitators in the society.

-Around 106 crore 18 lakh Covid vaccine doses have been administered in the country so far under nationwide vaccination drive. The Health Ministry said more than 68 lakh doses were administered in the last 24 hours. The Ministry said that a total of 12 thousand 830 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours. The recovery rate is currently at 98.20 percent. A total of 14 thousand 667 people recovered in the last 24 hours.

So how can a minister personally attack him and his family members? The government should carry out an investigation in why he is doing so, Arun Halder said on Sunday after visiting Wankhede’s house in Mumbai. Union minister and Republican Party of India (A) president Ramdas Athawale extended his support to Wankhede and said the NCB official is a Hindu Dalit and a follower of BR Ambedkar. Athawale also asked Nawab Malik to refrain from "conspiring" to defame the NCB officer and his family members. Athawale's remarks came after Wankhede's wife and father met him.
-The Covid-19 case count of Himachal Pradesh rose to 2,24,106 after 85 more people tested positive for the virus on Sunday. The death toll mounted to 3,738 after one patient succumbed to the infection. The highest 40 cases were reported from Kangra, 11 each from Bilaspur, Hamirpur and Una, and four each from Mandi Shimla and Solan.The active case count dropped to 1,942 while recoveries reached 2,18,410 after 198 people recuperated. Kangra is the worst-hit district with 50,818 cases to date followed by 31,606 cases in Mandi and 27,549 in Shimla.
