Regular International flights to remain suspended till January 31

The government has  extended the ban on commercial international passenger flights till January 31 next year. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) said on Thursday that suspension of international commercial passenger services to and from India will remain suspended till January 31, 2022. The DGCA said the restriction shall not apply to international cargo operations and flights specifically approved by it. It further said that international flights maybe allowed on selected routes on a case-to-case basis.

International flights were earlier scheduled to resume from December 15. However, with the outbreak of the new 'Omicron' variant in several nations, the country has now put brakes on its plans for international flights resumption.
