In Punjab, Congress led government and former party chief minister traded charges against each other. The boiling point between the two is- Aroosa Alam, a Pakistani journalist known to be Captain Amarinder Singh's friend. Punjab Home Minister Sukhjinder Randhawa has called for a probe into whether Amarinder Singh's friend Aroosa Alam has links with Pakistan's ISI or Inter-Services Intelligence. The Captain is saying that Punjab faces a threat from the ISI. So we will also probe the relation of Aroosa Alam with ISI, Randhawa allege and said that he had asked the Punjab police chief to investigate the allegations. "Captain Amarinder Singh kept raising the issue of drones coming over from Pakistan for the last four-and-a-half years. So Captain (sahab) first raised this issue and later got BSF deployed in Punjab. So it seems a big plot which needs to be probed," said the minister.
Former Punjab chief minister Amarinder Singh on Friday slammed the personal attack by the government against him and said it is worrying that instead of maintaining law and order amid the festive season, the Punjab government is now focussing on a "baseless" investigation into Amarinder Singh's friend Aroosa Alam's link with the ISI. His media advisor Raveen Thukral tweeted the statement of the former chief minister in which Amarinder Singh clarified that Aroosa Alam had been coming to India for 16 years.
‘You were a minister in my cabinet @Sukhjinder_INC. Never heard you complain about Aroosa Alam. And she’d been coming for 16 years with due GoI clearances. Or are you alleging that both NDA and @INCIndia led UPA govts in this period connived with Pak ISI?’: @capt_amarinder 2/3

The journalist, who met Amarinder Singh during his Pakistan visit in 2004, is reportedly a regular visitor to his home and had also attended his oath ceremony.
