The President of Shiromani Akali Dal Sukhbir Singh Badal released the SAD-BSP manifesto for the Punjab polls in Chandigarh on Tuesday. Releasing the manifesto he said, is the party's vision for the next five years. In the manifesto, it is promised that the alliance will make an appointment of two Deputy Chief Ministers one from Hindu Community and other from Scheduled Castes community. The alliance promised 2000 rupees per month to the woman head of the blue card holder family, 400 units free electricity to every household, and construction of five lakh houses for the poor with one lakh per year income besides so many other freebies. The election manifesto promises health insurance of 10 lakh rupees, 500 bedded hospital with super-specialty facilities and a medical college in every district The alliance also promised to give 33 percent reservation in colleges and universities to the students of government schools and provide One lakh government jobs and 10 lakh jobs in the private sector apart from other promises.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi while addressing an election rally at Rajpura in Punjab on Tuesday, said, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal, and Akali leader Sukhbir Singh Badal are making false promises. He said, he could not do so, he has been taught to say only the truth. Rahul said, AAP did nothing in Delhi, they are talking of Mohalla clinics and oxygen facilities when people were dying of Coronavirus in the national capital, where were these Mohalla clinics and oxygen cylinders. He said, only Congress can bring peace in Punjab.
Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi held a roadshow in Rupnagar on Tuesday. Earlier in the day, she offered prayers at Gurudwara Shri Tibbi Sahib in Ropar. The Congress leader is in Punjab to campaign for the February 20 polls. Priyanka Gandhi accused the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), the main opposition party in Punjab, of doing nothing in Delhi.
