All is not well in Punjab political scene. The ruling party Congress's infighting has created tension within the party. Long feud between CM Amrinder Singh and former minister Navjot Singh Sidhu has taken the party into a state of confusion. Amid row over Sidhu's new role, a senior leader of Congress party and MP Manish Tiwari's latest tweet has fuelled further speculation about the power tussle within the party’s unit in the state. In his tweet on Friday Tiwari posted a reminder to the high command saying “Punjab is both progressive and secular.” Tewari posted the demographic details of Punjab’s dominant communities, seeking to urge the top leadership to keep the non-Jat Sikh class in mind when effecting a change in an election year.
Demographics of Punjab:
— Manish Tewari (@ManishTewari) July 16, 2021
1. Sikhs : 57.75 %
2. Hindus : 38.49%
3. Dalits : 31:94 % (Sikh&Hindus)
Punjab is both progressive & SECULAR.

Meanwhile ,AICC general secretary and in-charge of Punjab Harish Rawat said again “We are working on a formula for both CM Capt Amarinder Singh and Sidhu to work together. We will go into elections under the CM. As for Sidhu, a formulation is being drafted. Congress President is yet to approve it." In the meantime , Navjot Sidhu on Friday met with Congress president Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi in Delhi. The party high command is facing an uphill task of balancing the two forces that are already pulling in different directions.
